"Your Day Begins Tonight" is a song written by lyricist Howard Ashman and composer Alan Menken for the end credits of the 1986 film,[1] but it was dropped in favor of a medley of songs from the movie. The song would have been performed by Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon.[2]

Lyrics

Crystal, Ronnette, Chiffon
Close your eyes
Hold your breath
Let it happen
Don't look back
Don't look down
Let go
Shut your ears
Still your mind
Let it happen
Let it ride
'cause deep inside
You know
You know
You know
Your day begins tonight
The bell, it tolls for you
Forget how scared and small you feel
Go take a chance, go spin the wheel
Your day begins tonight
Go on and take your cue
The job ahead's a heavy one
But tell yourself it must be done
You know the stakes are high
Two wrongs don't make a right
Tomorrow you'll be awake in pain
Go on and do it anyway
Your day begins tonight
Close your eyes
Hold your breath
Let it happen
Don't look back
Don't look down
Let go
Shut your ears
Still your mind
Let it happen
Let it start
'cause in your heart
You know
You know
You know
Your day begins tonight
This time it all comes true
And though it may feel not so good
Nobody ever said it would
Your day begins tonight
So start to see it through
Your second thoughts won't help a lot
When this one chance is all you've got
This bell won't chime again
This lightning won't strike twice
The world's not black and white, it's gray
So do it and be on your way
Your day begins tonight
Your day begins tonight
Your day begins tonight
